I am 50 years old. At the age of 39 I walked away from a successful career in Corporate America to pursue my dream of working in the sports business. It seemed like such a good idea at the time. Now I don’t know who initially uttered the following phrases: (a) “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”, or (b) “Pursue your passion and the money will follow”, but I’d appreciate a word with them. Don’t get me wrong – it’s been fun. And quite often very rewarding (in a non-paycheck-related kind of way). But for anyone who would consider following my path, there are…how shall I say it…consequences.
